Meet Savannah

Savannah Brooks started agenting in 2017 and, in 2022, joined the incredible team at kt literary, where she represents all of kid lit and adult contemporary and upmarket fiction, spec/light fantasy/magical realism, romcoms, thrillers/mystery/suspense, and horror. She’s especially interested in stories that teach her something new, add to a larger sociopolitical conversation, and highlight underrepresented identities and cultures (as a chronically ill person with physical, mental, and neurological disabilities, this last part is especially important to her). She earned her MFA in creative writing from Hamline University and her BS in marketing management from Virginia Tech. As well as agenting, she works as a teaching artist at the Loft Literary Center. She lives in Minneapolis and can regularly be found at one of Minnesota’s 11,842 lakes—yes, even in winter.

Want to connect with Savannah one on one? Find her on Lit!Commons or book a consultation through the Manuscript Academy.

What’s with the plants?

The plants tie into my mission as an agent—to not only foster growth of a project but to foster growth of a writer. Given the right amount of attention, feedback, and exposure to sunlight, writers become more talented, thoughtful, and trusting of their own abilities. My aim is to partner with writers, cultivating and collaborating on a joyful, meaningful career.
